Interesting story but kind of confusing..........

As a long time James Garner fan I found the stories great but it would have been nice to have a little more detail about the authors relationship with the show. It was unclear if he was employed by Mr. Garner or just hung out as a groupie for 2 years. The authors personal photograph collection is fantastic, you will walk away with a clear sense of the atmosphere that Mr. Garner created within his organization and is a further testament to his pretty much universal reputation as "A Good Guy". As an Oklahoman that lives about 15 miles from Mr. Garner's home town, we are sure proud to call him a native son!

Rockford Files-

In the days of The Mickey Mouse Club I thought the best job anywhere would have been at the old Triple R ranch hanging out with Spin & Marty and of course Annette. Having read "The Rockford Files...Behind The Scenes: My Personal Files" by Robert Howe I have to change my vote for he truly wound up with the dream job and an incredible experience. I've always loved the Rockford Files and James Garner and have read numerous accounts of the series over the years but there is something about Robert Howe's book that distinguishes it from the others as he was actually there. Moreover he was there living out a dream, a fantasy realized each day. The wonderful stories about the making of the show, the star, the cast & crew are all fantastic but it is Robert's story that is the most incredible. A young man from Michigan who moves to California with his family and then goes about visiting the set of his favorite TV show and then has the opportunity to meet his favorite actor and then gets invited back and then invited to stay and be a part of something so special. Only in America, only in America. A young man who didn't know that he couldn't do something and then did what he hoped to do and even more. It's a remarkable story. I really enjoy the stories he shares about the people who were involved in the making of this classic series but I really love his story. He does a remarkable job of taking us there and as a result we get to share the joy he experienced each day.

Follow Your Dream

As I was reading "Behnd The Scenes" The Rockford Files I couldn't help but be a little jealous of all the special memories and adventures as Robert takes you through this journey as if you are right there with him. He takes you from being nothing but a huge fan of The Rockford Files and James Garner to being an actual family member himself for two seasons and you will meet the cast and crew and see some beautiful friendships made as well as some fabulous photos from Rob's personal files. The book itself is his own personal experiences with the cast and crew who not only followed his dream but had a lot of fun and made some very special friends along the way. You will laugh, you might shed a tear, but one thing for sure you will get from "Behind the Scenes" is the feel good, heart warming stories that will leave footprints in you heart, if you are a true fan of The Rockford Files and James Garner. Friendships last a lifetime! When you Follow you Dreams, anyone can make it happen if you believe~ This young man, Robert A Howe from Michigan, proved that!
This is a very entertaining book and a must read. I highly recommend for all Rockford fans:)
