I got this book, or it's precursor, in the 70s, loved it but lost it. I needed a follow up on it and this came very quickly after i ordered it. I always loved the flavor of the writing by Mr Glover, a great place to start for beginners. I never got to play well but I enjoyed the help the book gave me, and needed an excuse to play harp.

THE classic instructional text, for a reason

As a 16-year-old in the fall of 1974, determined to learn how to play blues harmonica, I stumbled across this book purely by chance in the local mall. I picked it up along with my first Hohner Marine Band harmonica. Now, almost 40 years later, as a pro player and teacher, I'm still in awe of Glover's achievement. He may not get every single lick right--his tab system raised as many questions for me back then as it answered--but he DID get the instrument's great tradition exactly right. In his inimitable hipster's voice, with a cool gruffness that makes him seem like every teen wannabe's knowing, disreputable Kerouackian uncle, he hips you to all the Big Names, tells you why they're important, what they're ABOUT, and makes you feel as though you're setting off on a serious, soulful enterprise. This book will inspire you and comfort you; it'll challenge you, too. Are you paying attention? This is your roadmap. It's an ancient roadmap, but that's okay, because the music is about all that old stuff, too. Blues harmonica is a sorcerer's art; a little attitude, a little improvisational juice, a dash of mumbo jumbo, is just as important as sober rationalism. Thanks to YouTube, young players these days have infinitely more instructional material to choose from, and some of it is very good indeed. But nobody--not Gindick, not Barrett, not Gussow (!)--has captured the feel of the music and its warm, sometimes gruff mentorship process more perfectly, in the form of a written voice, than has Tony Glover in this book. This beginner's guide to the low down world of blues harp makes the right recommendation up front -- "One of the best ways to learn the techniques is to listen, listen, listen, listen every chance you get." Now that's advice that delivers on its promise in a most pleasing way. In between times, Little Sun's book will introduce you to the basics that will launch you on one of life's most satisfying journeys -- blowin' harp.

Serves its purpose :)

While giving a glowing review of a "how to dissect a sheep brain" book is strange, I still must give this book high marks because it meets the criteria for a good neurodissection guide. First, it's inexpensive - good for something that you might not want to put in your bookshelf after using it. Second, it's not hardcover and is wide. Okay, you're wondering what I am getting at... When you want a book to stay open so that you can look at it while holding a scalpel in one hand and have your other hand covered with...fluids... you don't want a book that flips itself shut when you aren't holding it. Also, it's easy to photocopy, given that it is in black and white and 8.5x11. Third, it has good content and doesn't try to overdo it. Dissecting a sheep brain is a gateway dissection - thus a book doesn't need to be an expensive tome on neurobiology. These authors also have a "photographic series" guide that helps with the dissection an dincludes bonus pages on other cranial structures, e.g., eyes.

Interesting female lead, nice world building

I don't think I've ever read a story where the female lead was purposely written as an airhead yet you love her for it. Matching her with the most alpha (although his position is actually the beta) werewolf type I've ever read about really was endearing. I loved his backstory and how he developed into the werewolf the female lead knows him to be.

What I really appreciate about this author's work is that she understands how to build a romance with a getting to know you period before the main characters fall into bed with each other.

This story could have been 5 stars for me if there hadn't been the side story with Leah which I found distracting and unnecessary. Also, an epilogue with how the kingdom of Norwich fared and the eventual child would have been nice as well.

Different than the others

This book was different than the previous two. At times it was a little hard to follow but really that just enhanced it by relating it to the storyline more. Also, instead of just dealing with Gwen's story, it connected back to Gareth from Lucien's court. I also loved all of the connections. We got to see how Lucien and Sara were as well as Kieron and Estraya were. I also liked the backstory that we get on the origin of the elemental and such. As Gwen constantly mentions, the threads are coming together. I can't wait for the next one.

Really enjoy the devotion of Lycans for their mate. Gwen is attracted to him but makes him earn her love. They combine abilities to overcome barriers to their happiness. Enjoyable read, I have read a review of the last book that indicates it is the best of them all. Will read now.

LAB Man — Photoshop Super Hero

I am being a bit cheeky writing this review, and giving it five stars, because I have not actually read the book — but I do know Norman. Like myself, Norman is an Adobe Community Professional, and spends time helping people with their Photoshop questions on the Adobe Photoshop forum. That forum has some of the most knowledgeable Photoshop experts on the planet, but Norman stands out, both for the level of his knowledge, and his ability to put across his information in a clear and concise manner. Having just discovered this old, out of print book, I am now going to do my best to get a copy. Incidentally, Norman loves talking about LAB colour mode, to the point that I had to reinvent him as LAB Man. :-)

As the take up of tablets gathers pace in our schools there is a need for advice on the best approaches and apps to help achieve successful learning outcomes. Teachers need to find meaningful ways to integrate the devices into their own practice and to evaluate which of the many thousands of educational apps might be appropriate for their pupils.

This book considers how iPads and tablets can be used to enhance teaching and learning in primary schools. It is especially relevant in the light of the computing curriculum, which puts a new emphasis on children as makers and creators of digital content. Across other curriculum subjects too, the introduction of mobile devices that can be quickly and reliably accessed has precipitated a shift in practice. For example, they have enabled teachers and children to spontaneously pursue lines of inquiry, to connect, collaborate and publish in many different ways, and to use their digital skills to enhance their exploration of the physical world outside the classroom.

With these opportunities in mind, we offer anecdotes from the classroom and examples of how tablets might be embedded within current pedagogy and practice as a natural learning tool. Each chapter combines a practical case study with discussion of related pedagogy, and recommends apps to support a personalised, inclusive and active approach to teaching and learning.

first of all, the plot. tom gets this scolarship thing to work with nicholas des perdus, a big journalist for new orleans. naturally, he takes his picture of liz with him (a[...] when nicholas sees the picture, he seems transfixed by it. then tom notices it disappears, only the reappear the next night with a spot on it. it seems liz looks exactly like some long-lost love of nicholas's. a side plot is jessica competing with alison to get a spare room at theta house. the good points of this book are how the writer changes the style when it's nicholas thinking. i just find that really cool. also it's funny how much tom is mooning over elizabeth... towards the end, he walks up to jessica and a group of thetas, and he's like "have you-" and they all say in unison "seen elizabeth?". that was stupid, but funny. another good point is that it's an svu book!! as an addict, i love it anyway!! the bad points are... 1) nicholas is a vampire. how realistic. 2) in general not much happens in the book until the last, like, 15 pages. 3) it takes too long to get to the point. 4) ANOTHER girl who looks just like liz and jess? there's liz, jess, margo, her twin, and now lizette (nicholas's long-lost love). 5) it's way too unrealistic even for me!! this book is not the best, but it's ok. i reccomend it mainly to big fans of svu.

This was an absolute smasher. Though all the stuff about vampires was a bit too annoying the author has managed to create the desired ethereal effect.I adore the way nicholas has been portrayed as a diehard romantic. Nicholas des perdu . Man! what a smooth name. He is gorgeous all right but liz should stay with tom. Tom has shown the depths of his love for liz. All the action starts with tom getting a prestigious internship with the famous journalist nicholas des perdu. This one is a real must for all svu fans .grab it right now

I love this book. I was highlighting this book until it looked like I painted all of the pages yellow (laugh). This book is a good book about financial prosperity. 'I'll Never Be Broke Another Day In My Life' should be on the bookshelves of every Believer. There are alot of Christians who are against teachings on financial prosperity. I'm not one of those Christians. I'm a Believer who wants to receive ALL that God has for me. I listend to the tape series (I'll Never Be Broke...) first and then I purchased the book.
Dr. Thompson shows you how you'll never have to worry about any lack or shortage in your life. The word 'broke' is not limited to just money, but it means 'to be without'. The principles in this book shows you how to no longer 'be without' healing; 'be without' wisdom; 'be without' the Anointing; and especially to 'be without' finances. I received full knowledge, wisdom, understanding, and revelation from the prophetic teachings from this book. I recommend this book for the prosperous Believers. I guarantee that after you read 'I'll Never Be Broke Another Day In My Life' you will be saying 'Me Too!'

In this book Dr. Leroy Thompson Sr. breaks every word down for you. He has written this book and has made it very simple for anybody to read. Very Very good book. I will never be broke another day in my life. I know that's right!
